Wilderness Fishing

The fish are all native rainbows and range in length from 6-18 inches. The stream is 20-30 feet wide with an average depth of one foot. For the serious fly fisherman, June, September, and October are the premier months to consider. Early booking is a good idea, as we limit the number of trips each year to retain the quality fishing.

The combination of limited access and rugged terrain provides our guests with one of the least fished streams in the northwest. Our ranch controls the access in the bottom of the 2,500 ft. deep canyon, and anyone else wishing to fish it must hike off the canyon rim and then climb back out again. This gives us miles and miles of essentially private stream.

Because each party likes to do things a bit differently, we have designed the following options for our fishing trips and we will be glad to customize any of them to fit your needs:

Basic

You have the house and the entire ranch to yourself, with private access to the trailhead and the adjoining Forest Service lands.

Vawter Cabin

In September and early October, you may backpack to the Vawter Cabin area for some spectacular wilderness flyfishing in the most remote water in the Pacific Northwest. Please call for details.
